Ronald Lee Wilson, age 82, of Black Mountain, NC, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
Ronald was born on March 27, 1940, in Peach Creek, West Virginia, to the late Worley D. Wilson and Grace Stiltner Wilson. He was retired from his job as a truck driver, and he was of the Baptist faith. Ronald served his country proudly in the United States Army.
Ronald was a very loving and generous man who had a heart of gold. He would give you the shirt off of his back and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and working on projects. Ronald also loved watching football and cheering on his favorite team, the Cleveland Browns. He had a good sense of humor, an most importantly, he loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald; and six sisters, Ruby, Mamie, Ona, Delores, Lou Ella and Ruby.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sister, Joyce “Joe” Midkiff, of Brookesville, FL; three sons, Dean (Erin) Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, Jeff (Annetta) Wilson of Covington, OH, and Jim Wilson of Camden, OH; three daughters, Lawana (Randy) Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, Shauna Dow of Phoenix, AZ and Cynthia (Ricky) Price of Black Mountain, NC; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth--
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
A Memorial Service will be announced by the family at a later date.
