Rosalyn Carolyn Fosnaught

          Rosalyn Carolyn Fosnaught, 83, of Black Mountain, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain. Mrs. Fosnaught was born on March 5, 1937 in Portland, Oregon, to the late Russel James Mellore and Alice Erickson Mellore. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California at Berkley and attended one year at California State College in Hayward, CA. She obtained her Standard Teaching Credentials and was an elementary school teacher in Oakland, CA from 1967 to 1974. After Mrs. Fosnaught relocated to North Carolina, she worked as a secretary for Mission Hospital. She was an active member of Swannanoa First Baptist Church and was involved in the Senior Adult Ministry Council, Sunday School, choir, visitations, and activities at Givens Highland Farms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom Morford; her second husband, Clynn Fosnaught; and a brother, Morris Mellore. 
          Those left behind to cherish her memory are her step-daughter, Jane Ogden and her husband Bob of Butler PA; step-son Craig Fosnaught of Columbus, OH; step-grandchildren, Brent Fosnaught and wife Katy Strand of San Diego, CA and Mark Fosnaught of Columbus, OH; step-great-grandchildren, William “Billy” Fosnaught of San Diego, CA and Vivienne Fosnaught of San Diego, CA.
          A private burial will take place on Friday, April 3, 2020 and the family will announce a memorial service at a later date. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Fosnaught Family.
