Ruby Jo (Moss) Robinson

Ruby Jo Moss Robinson, age 92, of Swannanoa, NC passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

 Ruby was born on January 24, 1930, in Madison County, NC, to the late John Walter Moss and Mamie Davis Moss.

She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Givens Highland Farms and was a member of Grovestone Baptist Church in Black Mountain.

Ruby loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with all of  her grandchildren and she had fun spoiling them. She loved to go shopping , and she also was a wonderful seamstress who liked to do hand embroidery. Ruby was also a big Nascar race fan and faithfully watched the races every week.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lee Robinson; and two brothers, Paul and Charles Moss.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her two sons, Steve (Betty) Robinson and Joe Robinson, both of Swannanoa; two daughters, Marie Naves of Swannanoa, and Doris (Craig) Hughes of Pittsboro, NC; two granddaughters, Leigh (Jerry) Cathy of Marion, NC and Adrianne Hughes of Apex, NC; five grandsons, Matthew Robinson of Garner, NC; Alex Hughes of Wendell, NC, Eric Hughes of Raleigh, NC, and Kaleb and Logan Ray, both of Swannanoa, NC; and one great-granddaughter, Anna Robinson, of Old Fort, NC.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home with Reverend James Lamb and Matthew Robinson officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 AM to 11AM at the funeral home.

A private burial will take place at a later date.
