Sasha Marie (Foltynewicz) Macfarlane

Sasha Foltynewicz Macfarlane was born April 18, 1991, at Naval Hospital in Charleston, SC.

Sasha passed at 33 years of age on October 4, 2024, in Asheville, NC.

Sasha is loved by family and friends, including her parents, John R. Foltynewicz and Tina Reighard-Foltynewicz, her brother Thomas Noel Foltynewicz, 28, of Weaverville, and her maternal grandmother Jean. M. Reighard, her Uncle Chris and Aunt Shelly Reighard, and children Christopher, wife Victoria, Joel, Julie, Ryan, and Chad.

Sasha was welcomed into heaven’s gates by her late husband, Scott Macfarlane, her maternal grandfather

Thomas J. Reighard, and her paternal grandparents Edith (Ensor) Noel and Harry Noel, along with her beloved aunts,

uncles, cousins, and great-grandparents.

Sasha was a kind loving soul, she was an explorer, intelligent, hardworking, and demonstrated perseverance.

Sasha loved being in nature, creating through painting, drawing, cooking, and writing and she loved listening to

music and political as well as interesting podcasts. She graduated from HS in Black Mountain, NC, 2009 and went

to the University of NC at Asheville to study Environmental Science. She had a green thumb, and her garden always

blossomed, as did her incredible spirit, always trying to help others, as her name indicates, defender and helper of

mankind.

Sasha’s will be celebrated at a funeral mass at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, One Cathedral Square, Altoona,

PA on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 10 am. Friends and Family will be welcome before mass from 9:15 to 9:45 AM

Entombment will be set for a later date at Calvary Mausoleum.
