Sondra Anders Cook

Sondra Anders Cook, 68, of Oakley passed peacefully into the Lord’s arms on Tuesday, March 11th, 2025. 

Sondra was born on July 31, 1956, to William Eugene Anders and Ruth Ann Harris Anders. She was a loving wife to Barry Cook for 44 years, a devoted mother to Kevin and Anthony Cook, and cherished Mamaw to Caleb, Taylor, and Jaelynn Cook.  Sondra is also survived by her brother Gene Anders (Rhonda), brother Steve Anders (Deb), sister Pam Petit, as well as many nephews and nieces who loved her dearly. 

Sondra was preceded in death by her baby girl Jennifer Lynn Cook, sister Wanda Westall (Bud), and beloved brother-in-law Quentin Petit, Jr.  Sondra loved the Oakley community and served as baseball and basketball youth league commissioner for many years. She loved spending time with the kids in the community, her neighborhood, and she treated her son’s close friends as her own only wanting the best for them all.

Arrangements will be made by Penland Family Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will be held at The Place Fellowship Church with Pastor Mike Anderson and Pastor Ricky Harper officiating.
