Steve Reece Carver, age 52, of Balsam, NC, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. Mr. Carver was born on September 19, 1967 in Gary, Indiana, to the late Herman Reece Carver and Donna Raines Carver. Mr. Carver worked as a carpenter and he was of the Baptist faith and attended Sequoyah Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family and he especially enjoyed time spent with his granddaughter, Evelyn. He enjoyed whittling wood, and the living history program at Camp Daniel Boone at the Boonesboro Village.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Carver. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Peggy Westbrook Carver, of the home; two sons, Elias Carver and wife Cheyenne, of Asheville and Lucas Carver and wife Kayti of Waynesville; a sister, Teresa Pindur and husband Gregory of Bryson City; a brother, Michael Carver and former wife, Jan, of Winchester, KY; a sister in law, Debbie Carver and husband Kenny Nun of Sylva; a step-father, Kenneth Atkins and his wife Mary of Newport, TN; and a granddaughter, Evelyn Carver of Waynesville.
