Steven "Steve" Len Stinson, age 61, of Black Mountain, NC, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville. He was born on October 28, 1958 in Conyers, GA to the late Leonard Lee Stinson and Lola Foster Stinson.
Steve was a member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Swannanoa and worked as a fork lift mechanic at Beacon Manufacturing for over 24 years. He was very active in his church and was a Sunday School teacher and Director, and a Deacon. He loved to fellowship with people and help others any way he could.
Steve was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Steve was truly a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Donna Lynn and Janie Roberts.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife whose been by his side for 34 years, Darlene Rice Stinson; two sons, Robert Stinson of Old Fort, NC and Stephen Rice of Morgantown, WV; a daughter, Stacey Ramsey and her husband Tim of Marshall; three brothers, David Benfield and his wife Theresa,
Eddie Benfield, both of Hudson NC and Leonard Stinson and his wife Maryanne of Brownstown, IN; and his precious only grandchild, Jayna Grape, of Marshall; a brother in law, Robert Roberts of Blacksburg, SC; and numerous other relatives.
A Celebration of Life to honor Steven will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 3:00 PM at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Swannanoa conducted by Pastor Frank Cantrell and Pastor Jesse Sours. The family will receive friends following the service.
