Suzan Claudia Owenby Bumgarner, age 56, of Asheville, NC, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. She was born on November 8, 1964 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Albert Owenby and Nora Lee Burgess Owenby. Suzan attended A.C. Reynolds High School in Asheville, NC. She was quite the tomboy who loved going to car shows and loved to fish. She also was a shade tree auto mechanic and loved going to Cooter's Garage in Pigeon Forge and Tweetsie Railroad. Suzan was a beautiful, smart, loving and caring person to all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.
Along with her parents, Suzan is also preceded in death by her sister, Glada Howie. She is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Raymond Melvin Bumgarner, Sr.; and her two precious sons, Raymond "Melvin" Bumgarner, Jr. and Christopher "Chris" Eric Bumgarner, both of Asheville, NC.
There be will no services held. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Bumgarner Family and assisting them with arrangements.
