Trevor Warren Ridge, age 43, of Asheville, passed away, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at his residence.
He was born on March 21, 1977, in Orlando, FL, to Gary Ridge and JoAnn Pritchard Ridge, of Black Mountain, NC. Trevor graduated from Charleston High School in Charleston, SC. He was of the Baptist faith. Trevor lived in many places throughout his life since his father was in the US Navy. He lived in Florida, California, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Connecticut, South Carolina and finally, in North Carolina.
Following in his father's footsteps, Trevor served his country proudly in the United States Navy. After his service ended, he worked in maintenance on machinery. He enjoyed history and watching history movies on TV and he loved the outdoors, too. Trevor enjoyed hiking and camping, especially here in the mountains.
Those left behind to cherish his memory , in addition to his parents, are his two sons, Lucius and Memphis Ridge, both of Stillwater, OK; a daughter, Tessa Blue Zimmerman of Asheville; a brother, Gary Wayne Ridge II of Mountain Home, NC; and three sisters, Amanda Sangid of Montford, TN, Amber Harris of Asheville, NC, and Chelsie Mattot (Andrew) of Swannanoa, NC.
A funeral service with full military honors performed by United States Navy Honor Guard, will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Jeff Dowdy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 am to 11 am. A private family burial will follow the service at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
