Trudy Prather Jaecks of Asheville, peacefully got her wings to fly on May 30, 2023.
Trudy spent her life being a helper and friend to anyone who crossed her path in life. She felt deep for people at a soul level. She had the ability to create a family anywhere she might be, even during her time in Europe, living in Germany and Italy. She would often have a soldier at her Thanksgiving table that could not go home that year.
She had a great sense of humor and she had the ability to make you lose control and laugh out loud even when it was very inappropriate. She found humor always lifts the spirit and she used it. She was known for throwing epic parties from childhood birthdays to community pool parties. Anyone who ever attended one still holds the memory.
She loved animals like people and would always pick the animal she felt would not get adopted. Her side kick in life was her little “Rocky” the runt of the litter.
She showed her children how to love your friends and had a lifetime best friend named Margaret, whom she loved dearly.
Trudy was preceded in death by her two sisters, JoAnne Bartolomie and Doris Mcelrath; and a brother, David Mull.
The following people are left to cherish her memory, her son, Scottie Creasman of Asheville; two daughters, Glenda Creasman Lunsford and Tammy Creasman Rakityan, both of Weaverville; a granddaughter, Shyanne Brewer; two grandsons, Charles Mills and Eli Creasman; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Mills and Siah Brewer.
A Visitation to celebrate Trudy’s life will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home, 125 South Avenue, Swannanoa, NC, 28778.
