It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Vivian Roland. Surrounded by her family, peacefully entered her eternal home on July 15, 2026. She is loved by many and known for her nurturing personality.
Vivian Roland, born January 19, 1948, she was the second of four children to the late Robert and Evelyn Wolfe. Preceded in death by her eldest brother Bob Wolfe, and survived by her brother David Wolfe and sister Diane Moss.
Vivian later married Bill Roland, and they spent 60 years together creating a home full of love and family. Together they had three children; both were preceded by their daughter Martha White and are survived by son David Roland and Donna Hall.
Vivian was so excited about the expansion of family to include grandchildren: Rhonda, Ryan, Jessica and Cindy.
Vivian opened her loving heart to great-grandchildren including: Devin, Jayden, Mataya, Emma and Waylon.
Vivian had a love and passion for nature; she loved watching wild animals of all varieties. She enjoyed watching birds fly in the sky. A smile appeared when black bears or deer walked through the yard. She enjoyed traveling and warm sunshiny days, arranging her beautiful flowers. Amongst her yearly travels to Florida, she frequently talked about manatees, alligators, turtles, and other wildlife. She spent many summers camping at Lake James where friends and family were always welcome. She would prepare meals, including “most popular hushpuppies” and encourage conversations. She wanted to hear good news or help with difficult situations. She was always a safe, comfortable space that was welcomed by a smile and a hug.
A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Sky View Memorial Park, 1610 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805, at 11 AM with Rev. Cy Miller officiating.
