Wiley Denvies Littrell

Wiley Denvies Littrell, age 93, of Leicester, NC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Wiley was born on July 22, 1929, in Buncombe County to the late Robert Lee Littrell and Mary Radford Littrell.

He was retired from the Gerber Company and attended Newfound Baptist Church in Leicester.

Wiley was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, who loved his family dearly. He loved to work outdoors tending to his vegetable and flower garden. His family says he had a green thumb and could grow anything anywhere. During the winter months, Wiley would crack black walnuts and give them out to his friends. He was the “salt of the earth with a little pepper sprinkled in.”  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Wiley was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny, Junior, and Leroy; and six sisters, Della, Lora, Inabelle, Virginia, Pauline, and Augusta.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 69 years, Ena McKinney Littrell of the home; a daughter, Rosalie (Joe) Ball of Leicester, NC; two granddaughters, Roxanne (Wally) Stubbs of Leicester, NC and Rebecca (Howard) Briley of Knoxville, TN; two great-grandsons, Brian and Joshua Ketner of Clinton, TN; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Briley of Knoxville, TN; and a brother, Glen Littrell of Leicester, NC.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Green Hills Cemetery, 25 New Leicester Hwy., Asheville, NC 28806, conducted by Pastors Bradley Johnson and Robert James.
