William Allen Obituary

William "Earl" Allen, age 92, of Swannanoa, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born on March 12, 1928 in Wise County, VA to the late Lee Fitzchaugh and Beulah Powers Allen. Earl served in the United States Army during WWII, was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hendersonville and was also of the Seventh-Day Adventist Faith. Along with his parents, he is also predeceased by his two brothers, Arlie and Don Allen; his sister, Ruby Fie; and a daughter, Sharon Creasman. Earl is survived by his loving wife, Betty Sizemore Allen; his son, Mark Allen (Mckenzie) of Black Mountain; his daughters, Carol Nail of Brevard, Angel Allen (Josh Bartlett) of Black Mountain, Tammy Kelley of Swannanoa, and Kathy Hayes (Richard) of Swannanoa; his 17 grandchildren; and his 11 great grandchildren.
There will be no service held per his request. Earl will be buried at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Allen Family.
