Walter Baker, 73, of Black Mountain, NC passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at his home with his life partner, Peggy, by his side.
Born August 16, 1951 in Winston Salem, NC, he was the son of the late William and Katherine Baker. He was a special treasure to those that knew him. Walter loved animals, especially cats. As a mechanic, he had a niche for working on British sports cars. Oh, the fun he had keeping his friends' cars running and attending car shows. He has a passion for riding his motorcycles and was always willing to help a brother or sister on a road trip. He truly enjoyed the sun on his face while riding. We will miss mostly his big heart and strong spirit.
A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
Penland Family Funeral Home is honoured to be caring for the family at this time.
