William Charles Wegler

Sergeant First Class William C. Wegler, died peacefully in his sleep on March 29, 2026. He was survived by three siblings Mary Ann, Thomas and Rita; 13 grandchildren, Daniel, Johnathan, Christopher, Harmony, Eugene, Rose, Lillian, Jazzlyn, Samuel, Jacob, Isaac, John and Abigail; and 4 children and their spouses, Ann and Peter, John and Rebecca, Robert, William and Hannah, Michelle and Frank (and any others we don’t know about).

He was surrounded by loved ones when he passed, remembering times they had shared with him. As he passed he took a running pose to escape them sharing his secrets.

He was a very loving, caring father and friend. He will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 PM on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 962 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
