William “Hank” Albert Wilson, age 64, of Swannanoa, NC passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born on July 24, 1957 in Tallahassee, FL to the late Albert Wilson, Jr. and Pauline Ratliff Wilson. Hank was a machinist at Kearfott in Black Mountain and a member of Grove Stone Baptist Church in Black Mountain.
Hank was like none other. He was kind, cheerful, generous, playful and a bit of a prankster. He always put his family first. Hank was a loving devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Kathy, with whom he created a beautiful family. Hank's love of carpentry and home improvement had him constantly fixing things in his garage, always, while listening to country music. In years past, Hank enjoyed spending time with his son, Adam, fishing, playing cards and working on projects together. Hank spent countless hours on the on the softball field coaching his daughter, Amanda and positively impacting the lives of so many others. He was a great friend to have, constantly lending a hand to someone.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Mike Wilson. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Kathy Wagoner Wilson; a son, Adam (Krystle) Wilson of Candler; a daughter, Amanda Bizub of Swannanoa; a sister, Paula (Bruce) Hunsinger of Swannanoa; a brother, Jeff (Cynthia) Wilson of Swannanoa; three granddaughters, Brooklyn and Zoe Bizub of Swannanoa, and Chestney Wilson of Candler, NC; several nieces and nephews in the area; and lifelong friends Vicki and Mike McKinney of Swannanoa.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Wilson family and assisting them with arrangements.
