I didn't know Mr. Henn but felt as though I did through the many stories his daughter Laura would tell me. He was a smart, loving father to her and I am so sorry for your loss. Laura will surely miss him and I will miss hearing her stories. Rest In Peace Mr. Henn ❤️

Mr. Henn was a friend to me. I will miss him. Sorry he had to leave us the way he did. I will never forget the time I got to spend with him. He was a brilliant man.

What a blessing it was to meet and chat with this delightful man. My conversation with Jim while he was here in Indiana and visiting the Farmer's Market will remain with me always. What an inspiration! Jim clearly knew where he had been in life and where he wanted to be. He is a rare gem of integrity, humor and story telling. He reminded me of my father in so many ways. I will treasure my brief friendship with him always and will keep his daughter Carol & her family in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

It was a pleasure to know you. It's a shame it was such a short amount of time. I enjoyed your stories immensely. You were a great, upstanding man which is so rare in this day and age. I was looking forward to filling a headset with the old Country music you loved so much.

You went on your own terms. I admired your courage and strength. I salute you.

Laura, So sorry for your loss. Your father was a good man and we had some good times with him when I went with you to visit him. The two of you were so close and loved each other very much. Know that you did your best at taking care of him to the end. I am sorry that you did not have enough time to bring him to live with you. I know that was your goal and you were close to getting that done. Please find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and with your mother.

My fathers final wish was to have his ashes spread next to where my mothers ashes were spread on their property in Barnardsville. He asked me if I was willing to do that for him. I said I would do whatever he asked of me. His ashes will be spread soon and I plan to have a small service at the site with the people who honored him, loved him and appreciated him to the end and supported his desire to be independent. Please contact me if you would like to attend. I know his spirit will be with us. Amen!

I am so sorry for the loss of Mr. Henn. I spent many a time with Laura at his house and she and I would cook all kinds of food for him after his wife passed because Laura was so afraid he would not eat properly. We filled 2 freezers for him. Then in the evenings we would relax with him in the living room while he told us all of his many stories about the war and life in general. I can not believe he is gone as I am sure Laura can not either. They loved each other very much. She took very good care of him. She will miss him terribly and so will I. Rest In
Peace Mr. Henn

I only met Mr. Henn one time while I was visiting Carol during Thanksgiving some time back in the 1990s. He and Mrs. Henn were very nice people. He had several projects that he was working on around the house, and some had to do with his gardening efforts. Overall, he led a long and prosperous life.

Dear Mr. Henn,

I know you are in a much better place, and awaiting to be resting next to your wife. I never got the opportunity to meet you as such a great man, but through the stories of your much loved daughter Laura throughout these past years and all that she has done to make sure you were so taken care of. All of the laughter and smiles you embedded on her. Never a day went by that Laura couldn't come around any of us without a smile and a great story about her daddy! We all looked forward to running into her and the smiles of the two of you together. Soon you will be with your wife and Laura will also be at peace knowing she honored your very last wishes. Thank you for your service and for raising such a wonderful daughter! Laura H. your pride and joy, will always miss and love you as we all will, but the memories will always be in all of our hearts and will never be forgotten. You were an amazing man, loved by so many. Always cherished...never forgotten. We Love you. Rest in peace, Love Jill G.

Laura I am so sorry for your loss. I so loved you coming to work and every morning talking about what was new with your dad. Every night on your way home from work you always would talk with your dad and make sure he was doing fine in NC. The stories you would retell made me feel as if I knew your dad. He is in heaven now with your mom and your brother and they will all watching over you making sure you are always safe.

Laura, I am so sorry for your loss. Words can not express how you must feel. You will feel so lonely for a while but you will get through this. After spending every night on the phone with your Father for all those years and spending every vacation with him it is going to be hard. I just wanted to let you know I am here if you need to talk. I remember going to NC with you to see him and the good time we had listening to his stories. Once again, I am sorry for your loss.

We are sorry to hear of Mr. Henn's passing. We were very fond of James & Lorraine. We have missed seeing them @ the tailgate market where we bought vegetables from them for years. Carol stills uses painted gourds purchased from them years ago for fall decorations. They were both lovely people & will be missed. Our deepest sympathy to their families.

I am so very sorry for the loss of a great man! I've heard so many stories about him from the meals his daughter Laura spent a week cooking to make sure he had the food he loved in his freezer whenever he wanted a meal to the laughs they had together. I pray she heals through this awful time and has peace when he is able to be put where his lovely wife is (where he always wanted to be) ❤️❤️ May you Rest In Peace Mr Henn

We are so sorry to hear of James passing. James was always an independent and proud man. While his passing is very sad, I'm grateful to hear he is now at peace, and once again, has his independence. I still remember the times he and Lorraine would spend with us for picnics and holidays as we lived for many years down the street from one another. Your dad was the best farmer and grew the best vegetables around. He was proud of his family and his garden. May you have peace knowing he was remembered so fondly and that he has regained his independence and freedom. Love, The Stones

My real good friend, Mr. James Henn is in Heaven now.. I'm happy to report this. I know this to be true because one night about 2 months ago, I knelt down beside him while he was kneeling and praying and asking God to forgive him for all of his sins. He said he would take Jesus as his Lord and Savior . I gave him a bible and he read it, not all the time but he did read it.. This is Chaplain Bob Bagwell.

You were yourself to the end, Amazing prescience to see where things were headed. You knew and voiced how it would be when they forced you to return to NC. We had very quality time in Indiana, it was very enjoyable to relate to you as one maintainance and repairman to another. It reminded me of times with my Father. We had to snatch that time, I wish it had been more;. But I will never regret it. I would do it again and more.
You did manage to have the last word in several ways, you always wanted that.

Dad-- Missing you already--but we did have some wonderful times getting to know each others hearts againI-- we were the same in thought and spirit. We loved each other and proved that everyday in our talks. We know you enjoyed the trip to Indiana, visiting your family and doing things that made you feel loved and wanted--going to Griffins football game, to the Speedway Farmers Market which I started in your honor, having dinner at Tara & Mikes, talking with Dan about machinery and ships, helping to deliver Iceys, and sharing stories. Its a time I will never forget--only wish we had you longer. I know that God heard your prayer to be independent and have your freedom, he gave you your wish. God Bless & God Speed--I love you----
