Robert Stanley Jackson

Robert Stanley Jackson, 73, of Asheville passed away Thursday April 27, 2017 at Mission Hospital. He lived in Buncombe County his whole life.

He was the son of the late Eugene Ambrose Jackson and Ruth Virginia McElrath Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Brenda Jackson, daughter Lisa Rhinehart, son-in-law Jeff Elliot (Sheila), and brother Frank Jackson.

He is survived by;  his son Robert Jackson, daughters Patricia Davidson (John) and Sheila Elliot; brother Kelly Jackson (Cloria), Betty Wilson, Barbara Stroud (Tommy), Gail Ray (David) and Rita Solesby (Don); his grandchildren Renee Rice, David Reid, Victoria Jackson, Darrius Davidson, and Junior Rhinehart; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, camping, and cookouts. He loved being outdoors.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 1, 2017 from 2-3 PM at Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Cane Creek Cemetery in Fairview.
