Ricky Dale Pack

    Ricky Dale Pack, 57, went home to be with Jesus and spend Christmas with his mom and dad, Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born on October 18, 1960 in Buncombe County to the late Wilburn James and Hattie Marjorie Redmon Pack. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and also participated in the Special Olympics this year and won three ribbons. Ricky is preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Lawrence who passed in March 2017 and brother in law, Jack Lawrence who passed in November 2017. He is survived by his brothers, Lee Pack and family of Weaverville, James Pack and family of Asheville, Allan Pack and family of Weaverville and Harry Pack and family of Asheville; his sisters, Louise Metcalf and family of Asheville, Mary Hill and family of Etowah, Pat Page and family of Leicester, Judy Merchant and family of Horseshoe, and Barbara Holcombe and family of Shallotte as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Swannanoa on Thursday, December 14, 2017. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jason Bartlett and Rev. Kenneth Pack. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. A burial will follow at Lewis Memorial Park in Asheville. Memorials may be made to Buncombe County Special Olympics at 67 Haywood St. Asheville, NC 28801. Penland Family Funeral Home is serving the family.
